| Priscilla Novak SPHL601 Expecting an A+ admin 12/22/2022 | Dr. Novak is great! Our class was supposed to be 2 hours long, but she never kept us for more than an hour which I appreciate since this was a night course. The class content is basic public health elements/ethics, so it's a little dry if you've already studied public health in undergrad, but it's not hard. There are weekly discussion posts graded by TAs, and I recommend being as detailed as possible in your responses. There are also 2 papers that have very broad topics, but they are pretty reasonable. Dr. Novak herself is super nice and funny! |
| Priscilla Novak SPHL601 Expecting an A- admin 10/16/2022 | The TA was extremely vague and unfair with the grading. Not just that, but unresponsive! You could send a thousand emails and get no response back. The rubric does not match what the teacher wants from the responses. There is rarely feedback for points that are missed. Just like the previous comment, I was looking for more in a graduate-level course. |
| Priscilla Novak SPHL601 Expecting an A admin 09/26/2022 | I am currently taking her for one of my (introductory) graduate classes. The way she structures lectures is a waste of time- she took one whole class/lecture period to review an assignment description that was available on ELMS. She is not engaging at all and doesn't portray a dose of personality or passion for what she teaches. You will get a fine grade (albeit, the TAs do most of the grading), but she is not a good teacher, and I'm surprised and disappointed to see her in grad school. |
