| Jonathan Poterjoy AOSC470 Expecting an A admin 12/03/2024 | JP's lectures can move quickly, but he does his best to explain the material and is happy to work with students during office hours or after class. The material in AOSC470 is difficult and will take work outside of class to understand. Thankfully, our class had a grad student tutor who helped us prepare for exams, complete homework assignments, and explain concepts that confused us from lectures. The exams were mostly conceptual and an equation sheet is always provided, and he tells you what topics to study and provides practice problems to prepare you. The homework, while difficult, was usually harder than anything you would see on an exam. The map discussions were also low-stakes, and as long as you try your best you'll get full credit. If you're considering a career in the government or as a forecaster, this class is an absolute must. |
