Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT457 Expecting an A+ admin 02/01/2026	I had Professor Vaziri for both years of the program, and he played a huge role in my growth as a designer. He's tough but genuinely cares, and his direct feedback helped me improve quickly. The projects from his classes became strong portfolio pieces that helped me stand out in interviews and job applications.

Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT457 Expecting an A+ admin 01/22/2026	I had Professor Vaziri for all two years of the program, and he played a huge role in my growth as a designer. He’s definitely tough and has high expectations, but that push is what makes his classes so valuable. His feedback is direct and sometimes intense, but it consistently helped me improve my work and think more critically about design. He’s extremely knowledgeable and stays up to date with the design industry, so the projects feel very relevant to real-world work. Many of the projects I created in his classes became portfolio pieces that helped me stand out in interviews and land opportunities. Overall, he genuinely cares about his students and their success!
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT457 Expecting an A admin 12/05/2025	Professor Vaziri has high expectations but he really cares about your progress. He is very knowledgeable and keeps up with seemingly everything happening in the design world, making him a great asset before entering the workforce. It can be hard to adjust to his pace at first, but I have definitely noticed my work improving under his guidance.
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT457 Expecting an A admin 12/03/2025	I have had Professor Vaziri for three semesters now, and with his guidance I have felt truly supported in the graphic design program at UMD. He can be a bit tough, but his teaching method has really pushed me to be a better designer. I highly recommend taking his course.

He would sometimes bring cookies to class :) I learned a lot and definitely recommended taking this course. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to do well!!
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT357 Expecting an A admin 05/13/2024	Professor Vaziri is a good professor with good feedback. I had him in ARTT356 and the class was not very interesting. In Interactive Design, you are introduced to the software Figma and web design. Professor Vaziri can be harsh at times but gives good and productive feedback. His first language is not English so he can say things that can be off-putting but I don’t think he means any harm. As long as you try your best in class and ask questions you can succeed.
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT357 Expecting an A admin 05/13/2024	We reviewed some concepts in the beginning, but most of the time we taught ourselves how to use Figma and what the UX principles meant. I would say we learned more about UI and did not get a great grasp of UX. You will definitely be pushed to improve your design, but not much will be taught and grades do not have much feedback.
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi ARTT357 Expecting a B Anonymous 05/11/2024	It's like having a second immigrant father that has super high expectations for you but you kinda want to reach them. He is a credible designer, and honestly knows what he's saying most of the time, so you are pushed to improve. It's a very learning-by-doing class, barely any lectures but tons of work/critique time. You'll gain the most once you get over the intimidation and just try- I wish i realized that sooner. In summary, he is strict but reasonable.
Alireza Vaziri Rahimi Expecting an A admin 01/11/2024	This class was a great introduction to UX UI. Professor Vaziri was always enthusiastic and there to answer questions and give feedback. His expectations were manageable but the workload was quite intense. You'll grow a lot as a designer with him.
