| Matthew Regan GVPT273 Expecting an A- admin 03/12/2024 | Overrated. Bad lecturer and takes months to grade short assignments. Had no idea my grade until a week after the semester ended. No exams but online quizzes on the readings. Also a final group project which I did not enjoy, mainly because the groups were randomized and I got stuck with two space cadets. Only take if you have a passion for the political side of the environment. |
| Matthew Regan GVPT273 Expecting an A- admin 12/22/2023 | Regan is a nice guy but he takes forever to grade the few assignments he gives and has little structure to the class. It is December 22nd and I have no idea what my grade will be because the final project due December 4th has yet to be graded. Feels free to take as long as he wants to grade but still grades harshly. Graded the midterm assignment from October 28th on December 7th. |
| Matthew Regan GVPT273 Expecting an A- admin 11/27/2023 | He's amazing! He's just a happy dude who loves what he teaches. He makes jokes and isn't super hard on grades. You just take quizzes once every few weeks and they're pretty easy, no need to do all of the readings. Take his class |
| Matthew Regan GVPT273 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/11/2023 | I think Regan is really nice but the class structure is really unconventional. He doesn't use powerpoint and his lectures are just him talking and writing on the chalkboard. You don't even need his lectures to complete the quizzes. The quizzes are solely based off the readings which you only go over in discussion. The assigned readings were old and long so I rarely read them. The quizzes were on elms yet grades on them wouldn't be published for like a month. The class is easy with just 4 quizzes, a paper, and a final "simulation" which was weird and I'm not even sure how to explain it. Nonetheless, he is very qualified to teach this class, it's interesting if you're into environmental politics, it's just a little unconventional. Easy A if you put a bit more effort in than is asked. |
| Matthew Regan GVPT354 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 01/10/2022 | Super nice guy, funny, easy to talk to. Lectures aren't essential to pass the class, but the information is super useful down the line. Would recommend. |
| Matthew Regan GVPT273 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/21/2021 | Really cool guy, just not sure that he's totally aware that we as students have little environmental/political knowledge. His lectures are honestly boring and not super crucial to do well on the more weighted assignments. But he is really well versed in his field and has a lot of insight on a variety of topics. He's also super approachable and understanding, he is easy to contact and provides extra credit opportunities. Highly recommend taking a class by him as they require minimal effort, especially if you are passionate about politics/the environment. |
