| Lakshmi Sridaran AAST498N Expecting an A Anonymous 12/09/2021 | Honestly, I can not give enough good praise for this class. The class was small with only 5 students but that made the discussions so lively. The weekly readings were not too heavy and each week 1-2 people give an analysis on the readings, so there was a rotation on which readings you needed to read with detail and which ones you didn't. In general, the Lakshmi was kind and extremely understanding. She is a fair grader and would grade on content and less so on how formal your writing was. She would allow an opportunity for all people to share their opinions. She was completely relaxed about giving excused absences and would also give extensions for reasonable excuses. I learned a lot in this class and 2 1/2 hours went by really quickly. |
| Lakshmi Sridaran AAST498N Anonymous 05/16/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Professor was extremely slow on grading, putting in most grades after the drop/add with a W deadline. Uses poor sources, like opinion articles on medium as sources. They are fine as supplemental sources but to use them as a focal point of discussion felt odd. Class isn’t hard if you parrot opinions expressed in articles, but highly not recommended. |
