| Luis Suarez MATH246 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 11/19/2021 | Took 246 with Luis over the summer of 2021. The course is very fast-paced due to the nature of a summer course but he tries his best to explain concepts clearly and is very helpful during office hours. Only 3 HW assignments and 3 exams throughout the course so as long as you set aside a couple hours or so everyday to go over the material and do some of the problems in the hw, you'll be fine. |
| Luis Suarez MATH246 Expecting an A Anonymous 08/23/2020 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | New math prof who's a very nice guy. Does not curve but adds incentives like averaging lowest of two first exams with exam 3 to help people with their grades if they do poorly on an early exam but well on the final. Lectures can be a bit hard to follow and sometimes contain errors + exams can be very difficult and rely on techniques we didn't fully go over in class, but in the end his teaching is effective and (especially if you self-study) assignments and exams are reasonable and you can do well in the course. |
