Had him for cell bio, BSCI420. Teaches a little too fast and has NO online component to the classes at all. No ELMS, no online syllabus, nothing. I forgot his name half the time because you never see it anywhere past the syllabus he hands out early on. Does a good job at making sure you know what to focus on for the exams. Lectures are filled with personal anecdotes that are appreciated if only because they give you time to catch up on your note-taking (and trust me, at his pace, you'll be falling behind nonstop). Use lectures to figure out how much of a topic he wants you to know, then learn the material from the textbook. TA who graded our exams was unnecessarily harsh but he's open to meeting with you to go over questions and will give credit back if he thinks you deserved it. Oh, and if you ever say his grading is "unfair," he will murder you. So don't do that. |
