Miao Yu ENME472 Expecting a B+ admin 01/01/2026	Awful professor. She is far more critical and other professors and harps on smaller details that are not as important much more than anybody else. There is a reason she has the lowest grade distribution and fewest good comments about this class

Miao Yu ENME361 Expecting a B+ admin 05/08/2024	She reads off the slides at break neck pace and doesn't make an effort to make the content understandable. It's a tough class, but she makes it unnecessarily difficult for us to follow along. Her lectures are indecipherable to the point that it's hardly worth it to come to class, yet she blames us for the low attendance.

Dr. Yu is a fairly effective teacher that really tries to help students succeed in the class. She is a very reasonable teacher and teaches from a powerpoint she uploads online. She also works through example problems on the board. She taught the material for the first midterm extremely well, but for the second midterm and finals, the material got really dense and hard to understand. Overall though, I would recommend taking Yu for 361 if you have the option to.

Dr. Yu really wants you to succeed in the class, she is very approachable and a really nice person. She can get a little flustered when students can't grasp the concepts sometimes, but for the most part she does a good job explaining the concepts. Grading is very fair, the course is very well organized, she is helpful in office hours, exams are difficult but fair. Recommend her if you have a choice.

Vibrations 1 is a hard class, but she is very nice and friendly. Her exams are fair and in my opinion, alittle easier than others which is a good thing. Whatever you do, Avoid Vince Nyguen at all costs. He is the worst teacher there is, and his exams are extremely difficult. Miao Yu is pretty good, just take her

Dr. Yu is a good teacher for the vibrations course. Clear hand writing on board, well organized teaching schedule and material. She saves my time for reading the textbook again and again. Overall, good learning experience.

Dr. Yu is a good vibrations teacher. Vibrations is not an easy class to teach and requires a great deal of effort (on the students half) to learn effectively. Dr. Yu's grading is very fair and she does curve. Out of all the professors who currently teach vibrations, I would choose her hand down.

Dry lecturer, does not speak english very well. Avoid her if you have the option as she makes the class more difficult than it needs to be.

Miao Yu loves to feed on the souls of those that cannot succeed in vibrations. The class is very hard in the first place. On top of that Yu moves through the material very quickly, has unclear handwriting, and a hard to understand accent. Sometimes it seems like she wants you to fail. I suggest avoiding Yu if possible.
