Special Topics in History; War, Genocide, and Resilience in Africa's Great Lakes Region

Examines postcolonial violence in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo in historical and comparative perspective, with a focus on the social, political, economic, and environmental consequences of these conflicts, as well as the strategies of resilience and resourcefulness that Great Lakes communities have cultivated in the face of protracted crisis and insecurity.
