INST388J

"Maker Movement" Approach to Computing; Introduction to Technology and Spectacle

Public displays of big technical works are all around us, from jumbotron boards at football games to projection mapping, both in theatres and on buildings, to drone shows at large events. This course is a practical look at what spectacle is in public, what it does for a space, and how spectacular experiences are conceptualized, designed and delivered. This hands-on course is based on literature from theatre, architecture, art, and engineering, and has been designed for students with a creative flair.
