"Maker Movement" Approach to Computing; Search Your Passion! Finding Good Information Online

Explores advanced online search techniques based on Daniel Russell's book "The Joy of Search: A Google Insider's Guide to Going Beyond the Basics" and related concepts and approaches. Students will develop critical thinking skills and learn strategies for effective online research using their own interest or passion as the primary research topic. Each clas swill include a lecture on search-related concepts and techniques, in class practice with the techniques on a common topic, anda related homework assignment to research aspects of the student s selected interest.
