Special Topics in Information Studies; Design Thinking for Visual Communication

Prerequisites: Minimum C- in INST126, INST201, PSYC100, STAT100, MATH115 or higher. In the last few weeks, chatGPT and MidJourney have created some incredible artifacts and artwork. If we have AI to translate our visual vision into artifacts - why do we need to learn how to be visual communicators?As technology takes over our lives, there are still some skills a machine cannot compete with: creativity, curiosity, and empathy. This course is about expanding these skills that are the building blocks of design thinking to support the learning of visual design principles that will produce aesthetical and usable visuals.
