Stretching from the pre-state era through the post-Cold War alliance and the intensive U.S. role mediating Arab-Israeli peace, which covers nearly a century of U.S. foreign policy. It will include domestic sources that have shaped U.S. policy, including public opinion, and conclude by examining scenarios for increased cooperation and managing tension in the relationship.
