Cross-listed with CINE329Y. What explains the recent explosion of Israeli television both in Israel and abroad, with widely popular shows like Shtisel, Fauda, and In Treatment? In this course, we ll explore three major areas of Israeli televisual representation armed conflict and war; religion; and ethnicity in looking at the sudden flourishing of Israeli shows in the 21st century.
