Topics in Psycholinguistics; A DEEP DIVE INTO SHALLOW PROCESSING
An examination of various phenomena claimed to arise due to "shallow" processing strategies (i.e., when linguistic knowledge is not employed to parse a sentence). Together we will explore what it means to be "shallow" across several test cases, ask what (if anything) these phenomena have in common, and work toward a broader understanding of how sentences are understood in real time.
