Prerequisite: LING311. Examination of the role of context in prediction during sentence processing. (How do people understand words within a particular context? How does the context affect people s predictions of what will come next in the sentence?). Discussion of behavioral and neural measures, as well as computational models of prediction and how they contribute to the theories of predictive processing.
