Advanced Special Topics in Psychology; Addiction: Variations in Vulnerabilities and Treatments

Addiction strikes diverse groups at all socioeconomic levels. This course will explore the complex interactions of environmental circumstances, preexisting disorders, socioeconomic factors, and social groups on the occurrence and treatment of addiction. We will focus on the development of addictive behaviors and strategies for treatment that take into account the diverse backgrounds of the addicts.
