THET408K

Seminar: Theory and Performance Studies; Installation, Curation, and Performance as Research

A combination of discussion and workshop, this seminar will involve a hands-on examination of the principles and strategies involved in: 1) Constructing art installations. 2) Curating exhibits. 2) Presenting Researchin a performative format. Our work will be located at the intersection of these three forms with the specific objective of cultivating the critical tools of what we will call "three dimensional thinking." With thisobjective in mind, each student will work on a semester-long research project, which they will present in a "performative format" at the end of the semester.
