Mary Beth Furst BMGT350 Expecting an A- admin 01/16/2026	TAKE HER she is super sweet and cares about her students. Her weekly assignments are so much easier than other professors.
Mary Beth Furst BMGT458A Expecting an A+ admin 01/11/2026	She is one of the kindest, supportive, and accommodating teachers at UMD. Her class is extremely engaging and interesting. I dealt with an emergency causing me to miss around a weeks worth of classes, and she was extremely understanding and did her best to support me. Her empathy and incredible style of teaching is rare, take her class!
Mary Beth Furst BMGT350 Expecting an A- admin 12/09/2025	she is very passionate about the subject, kind to her students and cares about them a lot. she basically knew the name of eveyr student by halfway through the semester. she is also very flexible about assignments if you ask her. overall she is a great professor, nothing bad to say about her whatsoever. the class is just two exams and a some easy weekly assignments.
Mary Beth Furst BMGT758C Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/30/2025	Mary Beth Furst is understanding and cares about her students' performance. Our classes were primarily filled with discussions while reviewing content. I typically do not like discussion-based classes because I prefer lectures, but I liked the content of the class and felt she engaged us well. She required us to write two topic papers throughout the 7-week course and an observation report. We did a group project throughout the term, and did a final project at the end of it that we presented. Her grading was structured but she was not terribly strict.

Mary Beth Furst BMGT457 Expecting an A admin 05/29/2024	Loved Furst! She is a great teacher and always engaged! The class is discussion based but there is no pressure and low stakes. The cases used in class are very relevant and interesting from a consumer's perspective. The capstone project was boring and assigned weekly but it is not too difficult. The exam/quizzes are short and usually intuitive, but can be slightly challenging based on the wording. She was my favorite professor at Smith!

You can tell she cares about her students. The structure of this class was very straightforward and wasn't too much work either. Would recommend her!

Mary Beth Furst BMGT350 Expecting an A admin 12/16/2022	Professor Furst is the kindest professor I've had so far. She makes an effort to know every one of her students and always asks how we are doing in the course and constantly offers support and advice. She is also an extremely good instructor because she makes the material very relatable. The course itself is good and the course load isn't too much work (3 assignments a week and an in-class assignment). I would recommend Furst over any other instructor for this course.

Tries very hard to make the once a week classes interesting and engaging, and uses examples that we are familiar with to get tough concepts to click. She is very understanding and helpful if you are confused, and puts in a lot of effort to make sure you succeed in the class. Exams are kinda hard, but she is an amazing person and will help you a lot if you put the time in.
