Shay Hazkani JWST332 Expecting a B- Anonymous 02/15/2026	While the content was interesting, I cannot give Professor Hazkani better ratings. He failed to make the classroom a safe environment for differing opinions. He is left-wing and pushes his view very hard in the classroom, making it impossible to stand up and disagree with him. There was one midterm, which was poorly worded, and a three-draft paper in which he kept changing the expectations. Participating in class was mandatory, so if you were uncomfortable speaking, consider getting a C/B in the class. Had the class been warmer and more welcoming to raise concerns or differ during disucssion it would have been a different story. If you are looking for easy and exciting, this class is not it. It is more stressful than it is worth.
Shay Hazkani HIST319K Expecting an A+ admin 09/16/2024	Professor Hazkani has a very narrow minded approach to his classroom if you dont agree with his agenda he will shut you down and make it impossible for you to offer a counter opinion. he vehemently hates israel and leans its jewish stereotypes and exaggerations to push his agenda.

Shay Hazkani ISRL342 Anonymous 05/03/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester.	Prof. Hazkani is a good teacher but a very demanding one. He's certainly a goldmine of info and is certainly an interesting lecturer but his teaching style leaves something to be desired. He's not very good at responding to emails so all your communication with him will probably happen during or after class. Sometimes, you'll have to keep asking the same thing to get the answer you want. I took his class in Spring 2020, but he did not at all adjust to pandemic circumstances - he demanded that we keep our cameras on and there were no exceptions for late work.
Shay Hazkani ISRL448T Expecting an A Anonymous 01/25/2018	Shay is a fantastic teacher. Fair grading, and he really wants to help you learn the material. He is also a goldmine of info, so feel free to float paper ideas by him, and he will freely share his knowledge to help you form a great paper. But don't let the man fool you, despite his generosity and ability, his classes are not easy. But put work it and you will see it reflected in your grade.
