| Daniel Pauw INST326 admin 02/14/2023 | He teaches 326 this semester and I can say that these first few works have been some of the worst in my life. He throws you into material that you haven't really learned yet and he's so disconnected from reality that it's insane. Whenever you ask him a question he'll either redirect you to the TA or just reread the directions of the assignments even slower offering no assistance whatsoever. He only does office hours once a week for an hour and it consists of him asking questions to the questions you ask. Avoid him at all costs if he ever teaches again. |
| Daniel Pauw INST362 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/10/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Not a very good TA. Probably one of the worst I've experienced at UMD. His attitude and stubbornness during discussion is distracting and normally the questions that are answered are very vague. He fails to provide examples when needed and instead makes you do the thinking from scratch. At the same time, he can act very childish when assignments are being done or presentations aren't being completed. He may be knowledgable in user-design concepts, but his behavior is very poor when it comes to interacting with students. If you take a class with Dr. Caro for 362, please avoid this TA if you can. All the other undergraduate TAs were MILES better. |
