| Marissa Sariol-Clough UNIV100 Expecting an A+ admin 12/01/2025 | you're required to take UNIV100 so it's expected that the course will be a waste of your time considering it's 1 credit. i feel like everyone doesn't give her enough credit for some things. don't believe she's the best teacher but she gets things done. she gives you enough time for your assignments but doesn't have a detailed rubric for the essays she may make you write. she takes attendance so show up, pay attention, and answer questions if she cold-calls you. i did learn a few things from the topics she taught + plus i liked the workshops because i was able to know more about my changed major, but sometimes you'll wonder if she doesn't like the class because she's not the person to show a lot of enthusiasm. if attitudes don't bother you and you understand how college works (because that's the main reason for this course) and you just want to pass UNIV100, i'd say take her and don't act like you hate her. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough UNIV100 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 01/04/2025 | This class isn't real. Literally a waste of time. To get an A, all you have to do is show up and submit the assignments on Canvas. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough UNIV100 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/09/2023 | Yeah, I had her for my UNIV100 class, which I know, is not even a real class and has little say over what actual work we have to do. What others have said is pretty much accurate in my experience, she does have a bit of an attitude at times, isn't always the clearest about assignment expectations, and does treat her students like children at times (I believe she normally teaches elementary students so I don't think it is on purpose). Overall, she has some flaws but she is an acceptable instructor for such a basic (and required) course. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough TLPL250 Expecting an A admin 08/11/2023 | Includes lots of resources on ELMS. Bad reviews are probably from students who did not attend class. Really helpful with one on one meetings |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough Anonymous 07/23/2022 | Does not grade assignments fairly and when you come to her for help has a major attitude. Horrible teacher and treats students like they’re in elementary school. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough Anonymous 07/14/2022 | Not a fair teacher, does not give expectations for coursework and then penalizes students without any explanation. Has favorites and will grade based on whether she likes the student. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough TLPL250 Anonymous 07/11/2022 | One of the worst teachers I’ve had at UMD. Did not explain expectations of assignments thoroughly and would grade based on favoritism. When asking for help she would be very condescending and make students feel bad. Do not take this class with her. |
| Marissa Sariol-Clough TLPL250 Expecting a B Anonymous 12/06/2020 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | young and new at teaching, requires ALOT of reading and outside work for class. She is not a good professor and she is very strict |
