Cheryl Spinner ENGL134 Expecting a B admin 11/10/2022	One of the most unprofessional professors I've ever had, very disorganized and haphazard with assignments and expectations. I She also didn't provide feedback or opportunities for it. The professor was very lazy as well, it was a lot of reading and not much else, I don't recall learning much or the professor taking an interest in my learning. Do not take the professor if you have a choice.
Cheryl Spinner ENGL101H Expecting an A Anonymous 12/27/2021	Good teacher. Very kind, understanding, an easy grader. Did not do the best job engaging students, but I want to give her a pass since the class is online and that makes being engaging extremely difficult. She seems to care greatly about what she is teaching.
Cheryl Spinner Expecting an A- Anonymous 12/17/2021	Dr. Spinner was overall a very chill professor that made ENGL101H very tolerable despite not having much feedback or discussion. She is extremely lenient with deadlines, where we just have to shoot an email to talk to her when we need an extension. In an online environment, I agree with the previous review that in an online class, she didn't go teach the concepts particularly well, but there weren't many checks for how engaged people were (and I knew I certainly wasn't). Most of class was learning by reading examples, which is not really learning the essence of writing but more through imitation, which is not for everyone.
Cheryl Spinner ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/22/2021 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester.	Dr. Spinner was a nice professor and wanted to make sure you turned in your work when it was at its best so she would give extensions if you needed it. However, personally, I didn't learn much from her and had to learn everything on my own, with very poor writing experience. I feel like she would do better in an in-person semester but she was not the best in an online environment. Also, I didn't know where I stood with my grade until after finals.
Cheryl Spinner ENGL134 Expecting an A Anonymous 10/25/2019	Dr. Spinner is one of those rare professors that genuinely cares about the happiness of her students. She cares about whether the students are engaged and interested, and whether a student is truly learning or not. She is super understanding when it comes to assignments, due dates, and absences, as long as you show a genuine interest in the class. For ENGL 134 you have to do the readings to do well, but the readings are always interesting and you're given a reasonable window in which to read them. She's super modern and won't bore the hell out of you like many other professors. For this class we get to watch things like American Horror Story and Black Panther, and we got to read modern literature (I, Tituba, Black Witch of Salem). I would 100% recommend taking any class with her; I think that knowing that your professor is very caring and very reasonable from the get-go helps you to care about the class more as well, and it motivates you to be an active participant.
Cheryl Spinner ENGL101 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/12/2018	Dr. Spinner is a great professor, and if you're interested in learning how to improve your writing I do recommend taking her sections. She is very willing to listen to student's concerns and office hours are a huge help for critiquing your essays throughout the year.
