| Christopher Swift COMM200 Expecting an A admin 05/12/2023 | I took COMM200 instead of 107 because I thought the '200' would look better on my transcript. I regret doing that because this class is a lot of work for what it's worth. Homeworks are due Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays each week. Also, the major assignments are group projects so you'd better hope you get assigned good people because your grade quite literally depends on it. Like the other reviews say, Dr. Swift is a nice guy but a harsh grader for a gen ed course. Just take 107 with a different professor to get your OC gen ed out of the way. |
| Christopher Swift COMM200 Expecting an A admin 05/07/2023 | The coursework is fair, but the grading is harsh. He's a nice guy, but he really does makes you work for that grade. While his feedback can be useful, the amount of points taken off for small mistakes can be frustrating. If you do the small discussion posts and show up to class, it can really make up for any of the lost points. (Both are 10% of your grade each.) I'd only take this class if you're already comfortable with public speaking and want a challenge. If not, stick to COMM107. |
| Christopher Swift COMM107 Expecting a B admin 04/26/2023 | Nice guy but don't recommend. He's such a harsh grader. This class should be such an easy A but its not with him. He wont let you make up quizzes if you miss one. He takes points off for the most random things too. He also assigns a lot of work for what the class is. I don't usually write reviews but I don't want anyone whos taking comms to make the same mistake I did. |
| Christopher Swift COMM200 Expecting a B Anonymous 12/19/2022 | such a tough grader and should have been an easy A but it wasn't. don't recommend if you just need a general credit OC credit, take 107 cuz 200 was too many assignments and so much work. Every class was a new speech or debate we had to do and it got annoying, plus the discussion boards on readings we had to do. |
| Christopher Swift COMM200 Expecting an A- admin 12/13/2022 | Interesting class, and he let us debate random topics a lot. Very tough grader though, he would take points off for really arbitrary things. Pretty lenient with late policy and there are a TON of assignments. |
| Christopher Swift COMM107 Expecting an A+ admin 11/21/2022 | This class made me so angry. It should have been an easy A, but he's such a harsh grader that I find myself fighting for my life. Take anybody, BUT him. He is so extra for no reason and makes us do mini speeches every class. Also, if you miss a quiz, you don't get to make it up. |
| Christopher Swift COMM107 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/31/2020 This review was submitted while most classes were online during the COVID-19 pandemic. It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Picky grader but otherwise good teacher and adapted to online stuff pretty well. Definitely still an easy gen ed course with him |

| Christopher Swift COMM200 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 10/01/2019 | Chill and effective instructor but he assigns a ton of work for COMM 200 |
| Christopher Swift COMM107 Expecting an A Anonymous 04/12/2018 | Dr. Swift is a good professor, pretty chill as a person. Very clear in communicating things, responsive to student concerns. He is a tough grader though... |
