| Kerry Tanner HIST208K Expecting an A Anonymous 12/06/2021 | Kerry is a good teacher. He is very knowledgeable about historical films as that is his area of interest for his Ph.D. He also wanted every student to succeed, so he would have individual meetings throughout the semester. The class only met once a week, but until halfway into the semester, there was not really any useful information being shared in class. I feel like a lot of the stuff that we learned about writing historical research papers, I already knew from high school and other college history classes that I have taken. The book he recommends with Chicago writing style is helpful and can be found on LibGen. The course does not have too much work, but DO NO PROCRASTINATE writing the research paper. You are given ample time to write your first draft, but it is 20 pages, so you cannot write it in one night (or you can but you'll kick yourself!). It's a necessary class for history majors and it was nice that you got to choose to write your research paper on a movie that you were interested in, but it was tedious work. |
