| Jennifer Wessel PSYC447 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/15/2025 | She was a great professor! She tried a new teaching style with us this semester by having us do reading quizzes with 2 questions at the beginning of each class and it made me really nervous at first. Then I realized they have such a small impact on your grade! I believe I got 50% consistently throughout most of the semester (some 100%, some 0%) and will still probably end with an A. The exams are easy as they are open note and are essay based with a very lenient rubric that barely takes any points off. Sometimes I thought the material was slightly repetitive/obvious but that might just be me being chronically online. Would definitely recommend! |
| Jennifer Wessel PSYC447 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/08/2024 | Professor Wessel is one of the best professors I've had. All of her materials and assignments are super clear and interesting. This class wasn't super hard, but attendance was mandatory as well as the readings. The readings and quizzes were not too hard and were super quick. She's also super funny and passionate about her students. If you have the opportunity to take this class I would recommend it 100% |
| Jennifer Wessel PSYC361 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 11/25/2024 | Awesome! I liked this class and found the content interesting. Dr Wessel was also super friendly and it was a small classroom setting, so she would chat with us as we walked in and during class discussions. Lectures are recorded and she even said you don't need to go, but suggests it and presents exam data that show that those who attend lecture tend to do better on exams and in the class. 2 midterms and a final which were not hard, everything comes from the slides so no textbook needed. Definitely suggest Dr Wessel! |
| Jennifer Wessel PSYC221 Expecting an A- Anonymous 04/30/2019 | An amazing professor, definitely one of my favorites at UMD. She explains concepts in a very understandable way and is very approachable if you have questions. She does a great job at facilitating conversations in lecture and discussion. Her exams are very straightforward and if you study her guided lecture notes and do the practice problems provided, it's hard not to get a good grade. |
| Jennifer Wessel PSYC221 Anonymous 03/14/2019 | She didn't require a textbook for the class and taught concepts very well. Her teaching was really thorough and easy to understand. Her exams are easy and for psyc221 it was exactly based on her guided lecture notes. She drops one grade per category including exams. I'd say she is an excellent professor. |
