| Gottlieb Oehrlein ENMA201 Expecting an A- Anonymous 05/11/2025 | Boring lecture where he just reads off the slides. Exams are fine but he releases a study guide with every single thing in the slides, so you don't actually know what's specifically going to be on the exam. Very harsh grader on the weekly presentations, even if the less detailed part is your partner's. He's really bad at communicating and explaining topics. There were only 8 people in the class for good reason. If you enjoy boring lectures and 20 minute tangents by classmates, this class is for you. If not, just take something else. |
| Gottlieb Oehrlein ENMA201 Expecting an A- admin 04/27/2022 | The professor is not really a fluent speaker, so it might hard to hear him, but his lectures are quite detailed and my classmates are interesting to hear. Make sure you have a clear communication with your partner(s) in discussion to do slides, which makes up a lot of your grades and are graded quite strictly. Don't wait until last minute. Exams are pretty fair: it's in the lecture slides (know some facts for evidence and terms) and the study guide. The most important skill you learn in this class is supporting your argument with good evidence because there is no right or wrong answer when it asks for your opinions in a topic. If you want a slightly easy A and GenEd credit (DSNS and SCIS), take this course. It's a plus if you like debating or discussing topics related to technology and world-problems. The TA is friendly and understanding. I think that the course's purpose and content are interesting and important. It only lacks excitement and engagement. |

It may not be indicative of a regular semester. | Definitely do not recommend taking this. The class is so much work and is mostly based on group projects that are graded very harshly. Very poor communication overall from him and no one ever knew what was going on in this class. |
